Just found your site. I too have a Made in Hong Kong, British Crown Colony sequined jacket, black and white. Wondering if there is a market for these? I sure appreciate any information anyone has. This jacket actually belonged to my husband's aunt, I was guessing she purchased it in perhaps 60's, but maybe from the info above it was earlier. Thank you.

Laura, great to meet you and glad you enjoyed the post.
You are working on a fascinating thesis. I would love to read your thesis when it's done!
To answer your questions, I bought the Munari books while traveling in Italy. You can, however, easily order the books online on Amazon.com.
Let me know if you got hold of them!

Very interesting to hear a young Hmong's perspective on tradition and embroidery! Where about do you live?
During the hike I mention in the blogpost, our young guide was finishing the embroidery on her outfit's armbands during down time.
I asked her to teach me how to embroider. It was wonderful to learn from her and participate in perpetuating her clan's tradition.
It's never too late to learn!

hi! i just read your post about Munari's works. I'm just starting out my thesis (in Portugal) and its about illustrated childrens books and the power of diferent shapes in the book design.
In Portugal is hard to find books that realy capture this essence like Munari did. My question for you is: where did you get this book? did you bought it online? if you did, can you please tell so I can buy it too?

Thank you!
And by the way, great post!
