Wedding Style: Black And Botanical

Breaking wedding convention can make for beautiful photos.
Our friends Marko Ahtisaari and Lisa Sounio got married a few years ago in their hometown of Helsinki in a moving, and stylish wedding. True to their Nordic roots, the wedding was celebrated with minimalist Finnish design. True to themselves, Lisa and Marko added their own original twist.
Ahead of the times, Lisa was inspired by the 50s look, wearing black satin opera gloves. For her wedding gown, she chose a straight black satin corset dress designed by a Finnish designer who also dresses Dita Von Teese. White was left to the groom.
Also, Lisa went botanical, wearing a home-made necklace made from one leaf, with white flowers in her bee-hived hair.
The choice of bold colors added drama, making for strong graphic photos and an original wedding.

Gorgeous. I absolutely love the dress and hair. She looks so beautiful. I think your wedding is all about stirring it up! No big white gown for me!
